In this paper, we present a system for the classification of written texts to be included in a Greek Reference Corpus. This system is structured according to the interrelation of the following three levels of analysis : Domain of Human Communication, Text Type and Sublanguage. Furthermore, specific factors that affect the representativity of the texts are discussed, such as the degree of dissemination, degree of influence, language level, and original vs. translated text.
