Pirros Tsiakoulis received the Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Greece in 2003. He currently pursues his PhD studies at the National Technical University of Athens in the area of speech synthesis coadvised by Prof. George Carayannis (NTUA) and Assoc. Prof. Alexandros Potamianos (Technical University of Crete).

He joined the Institute for Language and Speech Processing (ILSP / R.C. "Athena") in 2000. He participated in various National and E.U. research and technology projects (IMUTUS, CLIO, VEMUS, Mobitalk, INTEREG III «Greece-Bulgaria»), as well as in the development of ILSP products (All Greek to Me!, Ekfonitis+). He is a member of the institute’s speech synthesis team, contributing in the research and development of speech technology and speech applications.
