A reducded complexity multipulse coder is proposed in this paper. A 33% complexity reduction affects the overall speech output quality only slightly as is demonstrated by both informal listening and SNR computation. On the other hand, it makes possible the implementation of the coder with cheap commercial signal processing chips.
