The goal of the project was the development of methodologies and tools for the improvement of the efficiency of a full text retrieval system with the addition of linguistic information. The main aims were the definition and the development of a methodology for the identification of candidate one-word or multi-word terms from legal texts as well as the development of software, based on this methodology, which would reduce the "noise" and the "silence" of legal texts and their incorporation in existent retrieval systems.

The RENOS system was proved superior when compared to existing legal data bases. The evaluation of the project was very positive.
