The programme aimed at the development of a common electronic platform (shell) based in modern technologies which is used for the creation of electronic sites aiming at the cultural and tourist promotion addressing Greeks and foreigners for the presentation of topics of cultural heritage and tourism to cover the needs of all Greek regions. The proposed platform is used by all internet sites projects for the Regions of the corporate programme Information Society (see invitation of the submission of proposals cod. 78).

Two are the basic elements of the platform design: the parametric structure and the systematization of information building

The information that is registered in the electronic platform could be classified in four thematic units (as described in paragraph 3.1): environment, tourism, culture and economy.

The qualitative aims of the project are concerned with the composition of specifications for the development of cultural and tourist content of excellent quality as well as the development of a user-friendly access system.

In addition, within the framework of the present project the producer takes responsibility for the release of information to the public about the expected results and the implementation of Invitation 78 of the Corporate Programme of the Information Society. Publication activities concentrate upon the regions – locations where the results have been implemented; parallel activities take place around Greece.

The ultimate aim of the proposed system is to highlight the historical and cultural characteristics of every Greek region, as well as contribute to the tourist development of all regions.
