The Speech Synthesis Group of ILSP/R.C."Athena" has received the best paper award at the 5^th IEEE International Conference on Cognitive Infocommunications (IEEE CogInfoCom 2014) which took place in 5-7 November at Vietri sul Mare, Italy.

The award was given for the paper:

«Towards Expressive Speech Synthesis: Analysis and Modeling of Expressive Speech»
Spyros Raptis, Sotiris Karabetsos, Aimilios Chalamandaris, Pirros Tsiakoulis

which presented the Group's work in the area of expressive speech. The research leading to these results has been partially funded by the POLYTROPON project (KRIPIS-GSRT, MIS: 448306).
