It is our pleasure to announce the 14th International Conference on Frontiers in Handwriting Recognition (ICFHR-2014) that will take place on September 1-4, 2014 in the island of Crete, Greece and is organized by the National Center for Scientific Research “Demokritos”, the “Athena” Research and Innovation Center and the Democritus University of Thrace. The International Conference on Frontiers in Handwriting Recognition (ICFHR) is one of the International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR) conferences that brings together leading researchers and engineers from the fields of on-line and off-line handwriting recognition. ICFHR 2014 has 170 participants from 28 countries from Europe, the Americas, Asia, Africa and Australia. It involves the presentation of 127 research papers organized in 10 thematic groups, 2 distinguished invited speakers, 3 tutorials in the fields of handwritten text recognition, retrieval and signature verification, as well as the announcement of the 7 winners of the corresponding competitions dealing with several challenges in the field of handwriting recognition.
