The goal of the two themes of the Week of “Communication – from Information to Knowledge” was to make the visitor aware of the changes that Information, Communication and Knowledge Technology has brought and will bring to every aspect of human activity and to create a spirit of innovation especially among young people.

When visitors entered the “Athena” RC, they were informed about its activities from dynamic and popular videos and also from the special digital information point (Infopoint). Every day there were special tributes in specific R & T areas which included special tours in technologies of “Athena” RC institutes, educational applications and services, cultural products and other application areas. Among other possibilities were exhibits in the kiosk with free interactive nature which allowed visitors to test applications and services and to participate in conversation with researchers.

During the weeks, educational events and games for older and younger children with inspiration and material from the products and technologies of "Athena" RC were organised with a special focus on the student, future scientific and productive population of the country.

The two themes of the "Science and Technology Week 2006" included a rich program of parallel events with workshops, artistic events, and competitions. “Athena” RC participated in the workshops which were organized in the framework of the S & T Week with the following speeches in Athens and Thessaloniki.
