Other Facilities Internet access is provided by GRNET through a dual fibber Gigabit link (primary and backup link). The buildings in Athens and Xanthi include a structured cabling network with active equipment for the implementation of the 1Gbit LAN in all work areas, while a wireless network (wi-fi) is available in the entire building. Local network users are behind a firewall for security. Additionally, internet access is provided to EDUROAM users (international research and education community) via wireless access points. ILSP personnel, upon request, can access the infrastructure from everywhere via the internet using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) with strong authentication to ensure the privacy of the communication.
