The Department focuses on interdisciplinary research, technological development and innovation in the field of Embodies Interaction and Robotics with an emphasis on multimodal human behavior. Applications include intelligent environments, autonomous living, personal assistants and social robots, embodied dialogue agents, multimodal dialogue systems, digital characters, computational intelligence, and human-robot as well as human-computer interaction. This context includes research and development in the field of Sign Language Τechnologies, with an emphasis on the following fields: dynamic sign language synthesis, special communication and interaction interfaces, development and annotation of sign language resources as well as development of technologies for signed data processing.
