Dimou Nassia received her diploma in Greel Philology, specialized in Linguistics, from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2001. During her post graduate studies she received her Masters diploma (DEA) in Experimental Phonetics from the University Paris 7 (in collaboration with the University Paris 3) of Paris in 2002, on the subject: « Identification d’une langue a partir des indices suprasegmentaux. Etude comparative du francais et du grec » under the supervision of Prof. G.Boulakia (Paris 7) and Prof. J-Y Dommegues (Paris 8). In 2008 she received her Doctoral Diploma in Experimental Phonetics from the University Paris 7 on the subject: « L’identification d’une langue a partir des indices suprasegmentaux. Etude experimentale de deux idiomes du grec moderne» under the supervision of J-Y Dommegues.

During her years in France she was a teaching assistant (2003-2007) – as part of her duties as a research fellow in University Paris 7 (Allocateur de Recherche) – and she has undertaken courses in General Linguistics (2) and Experimental Phonetics (5) in graduate and post-graduate level.

In terms of research she has been and is still involved in research on the prosodic features of some Greek idioms, the role of prosody in synthetic speech and the analysis of the Greek Sign Language.

Nassia has been collaborating with the department of Speech and Sound of the Institute for Language and Speech Processing since 2003 but belongs to its’ research team officially from January 2009, participating in the research program Dicta-Sign.

Nassia is a member of the Education Technology Team of the ILSP and is in close contact with the Speech Synthesis Team.
