Abstract: | The present article presents the ontologies developed for a web service platform, which facilitates the interconnection between independent enterprise systems and specifically between an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and a WFMS (Workflow Management System). The system was developed within the framework of the national project CLIO.
At first, we discuss how we processed various texts describing enterprise processes, in order to extract the terms needed for the construction of a conceptualisation model. Then, we describe the methodology adopted for terminology management and the development of ontologies. Furthermore, the basic parameters taken into account for terminology management and the building of ontologies are discussed in detail: a) genericness b) term frequency-of-occurrence and c) detection of common entities between ontologies of the same domain for reasons of consistency and economy. |
