Βιογραφικά στοιχεία

Ο Προκόπης Προκοπίδης εργάζεται ως υπολογιστικός γλωσσολόγος στο Τμήμα Φυσικής Γλώσσας και Εξαγωγής Γνώσης του Ινστιτούτου Επεξεργασίας του Λόγου από το 1998. Είναι πτυχιούχος του Τμήματος Αγγλικών Σπουδών της Φιλοσοφικής Σχολής του Παν. Αθηνών (1993) και κάτοχος μεταπτυχιακού διπλώματος στην Υπολογιστική Γλωσσολογία από το Παν. Του Essex (1998). Έχει συμμετάσχει σε ελληνικά και ευρωπαϊκά ερευνητικά έργα που σχετίζονται με την επεξεργασία φυσικής γλώσσας, την εξαγωγή πληροφορίας και τη δημιουργία γλωσσικών πόρων (συμπεριλαμβανομένων των Panacea, Abu-MaTran και ELRC). Έχει συμβάλει στο σχεδιασμό και την ανάπτυξη χειρωνακτικά επισημειωμένων γλωσσολογικών πόρων όπως το Greek Dependency Treebank, αλλά και εφαρμογών για την αυτόματη επισημείωση ελληνικών κειμένων σε διάφορα επίπεδα γλωσσικής ανάλυσης. Εργασίες του έχουν παρουσιαστεί σε ελληνικά και διεθνή συνέδρια και βιβλία.
