O Ανέστης Κουτσούδης γεννήθηκε στην Καβάλα το 1977 και μεγάλωσε στην Ξάνθη. Έλαβε το Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Computer Studies (Visualisation) από το τμήμα Μαθηματικών και Πληροφορικής του πανεπιστημίου Derby και το Master of Science in Multimedia Technologies από το τμήμα Επιστήμης Πληροφορικής του πανεπιστημίου Bath του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου. Το 2010 έλαβε το διδακτορικό του δίπλωμα με αντικείμενο την «Ανάκτηση 3Δ αντικειμένων βάσει περιεχομένου και MPEG-7 μεταδεδομένων» από το τμήμα Ηλεκτρολόγων Μηχανικών και Μηχανικών Υπολογιστών του Δημοκρίτειου Πανεπιστημίου Θράκης. Από το 2001 έχει εργαστεί ως ελεύθερος επαγγελματίας στο χώρο της επιστήμης της πληροφορικής και δη στην ανάπτυξη λογισμικού και γραφικών υπολογιστών. Έχει εργαστεί ως προϊστάμενος του τμήματος μηχανοργάνωσης και δημιουργικού στον περιφερειακό τηλεοπτικό σταθμό Κανάλι 6 – Ραδιοτηλεόραση ΑΕ ενώ από το 2006 έως και σήμερα εργάζεται στο Ε.Κ. ‘Αθηνά’ όπου κατέχει θέση κύριου ερευνητή στο τμήμα πολυμέσων. Για περισσότερο από δεκαπέντε χρόνια συμμετέχει ενεργά στην υλοποίηση ερευνητικών έργων, που χρηματοδοτούνται τόσο από εθνικούς όσο και από Ευρωπαϊκούς πόρους. Τα ερευνητικά του ενδιαφέροντά περιλαμβάνουν: προγραμματισμό 3Δ γραφικών πραγματικού χρόνου, μεθοδολογίες 3Δ αποτύπωσης αντικειμένων, μνημείων και αρχιτεκτονικών συνόλων, ανάλυση και ανάκτηση 3Δ δεδομένων βάσει περιεχομένου, μηχανική λογισμικού, τεχνολογίες πολυμέσων και εικονική πραγματικότητα. Το επιστημονικό συγγραφικό του έργο έχει περισσότερες από 450 ετεροαναφορές ενώ εκτελεί χρέη αξιολογητή άρθρων σε διεθνή επιστημονικά περιοδικά και συνέδρια. Συμμετέχει σε οργανωτικές επιτροπές επιστημονικών συνεδρίων και έχει επιβλέψει πρακτικές εργασίες φοιτητών. Επιπρόσθετα είναι μέλος του διδακτικού προσωπικού του διατμηματικού μεταπτυχιακού προγράμματος «Εφαρμοσμένες Αρχαιολογικές Επιστήμες» του Πανεπιστημίου Αιγαίου ενώ αποτελεί μέλος εξεταστικών επιτροπών πτυχιακών εργασιών και διδακτορικών διατριβών σε πανεπιστήμια του εξωτερικού. Είναι πρεσβύτερο μέλος της ΙΕEE, μέλος της Ένωσης Πληροφορικών Ελλάδος (ΕΠΕ), ιδρυτικό μέλος του συλλόγου Ερευνητών/ΕΛΕ του Ε.Κ. «Αθηνά», εγγεγραμένο μέλος του μητρώου αξιολογητών της ΓΓΕΤ καθώς και εγκεκριμένος αξιολογητής του Fund for Scientific Research (FNRS Βέλγιο).
