Βιογραφικά στοιχεία

Η Μαρίνα Βασιλείου (1972) σπούδασε Ελληνική Φιλολογία με κατεύθυνση Γλωσσολογίας στο Εθνικό και Καποδιστριακό Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών (ΕΚΠΑ) και ολοκλήρωσε τον Α’ κύκλο σπουδών του Μεταπτυχιακού Προγράμματος του οικείου πανεπιστημίου. Η διπλωματική της εργασία με θέμα "Το απαρέμφατο της Αρχαίας Ελληνικής υπό Έλεγχο" κινείται στο χώρο της Γενετικής Σύνταξης. Στην παρούσα φάση, ως υποψήφια διδάκτωρ του ΕΚΠΑ, εκπονεί τη διδακτορική της διατριβή με θέμα "Διαχρονική εξέλιξη των απαρεμφατικών δομών της Αρχαίας Ελληνικής" στο θεωρητικό πλαίσιο της Γενετικής Σύνταξης.

Έχει διδάξει Γλωσσολογία στο Independent Science & Technology Studies/University of Hertfordshire (IST/UH), ενώ για κάποιο διάστημα συνεργάστηκε με το Εργαστήριο Επεξεργασίας Φυσικής Γλώσσας του Εθνικού Μετσόβειου Πολυτεχνείου (ΕΜΠ). Το 2003 μετέφρασε το βιβλίο του Chomsky N. 2000: New horizons in the study of language and mind (Cambridge University Press). Δραστηριοποιείται ερευνητικά και έχει δημοσιεύσει σε διεθνή επιστημονικά περιοδικά και συνέδρια.

Ως μέλος του τμήματος Μηχανικής Μετάφρασης του Ε.Κ. "Αθηνά"/ΙΕΛ ασχολείται με τη σύνταξη προτάσεων για την ανάληψη έργων στα πλαίσια εθνικών ή ευρωπαϊκών ερευνητικών προγραμμάτων, ενώ έχει συμβάλει σε διάφορα έργα σχετιζόμενα με στατιστικές προσεγγίσεις της γλώσσας, υφολογία, μορφολογική ανάλυση με τεχνικές αναγνώρισης προτύπων, μηχανική μετάφραση, οντολογίες, ελεγχόμενες γλώσσες, προδιαγραφές συντακτικής ανάλυσης
