Βιογραφικά στοιχεία

Η Βούλα Γιούλη είναι γλωσσολόγος – ερευνήτρια στο χώρο της υπολογιστικής γλωσσολογίας από το 1993. Είναι πτυχιούχος του τμήματος Φιλολογίας της Φιλοσοφικής Σχολής του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών, από όπου αποφοίτησε το 1992 (κατεύθυνση Γλωσσολογίας), και το 1996 απέκτησε μεταπτυχιακό τίτλο σπουδών στην Υπολογιστική Γλωσσολογία από το Πανεπιστήμιο του Εδιμβούργου (MSc, Speech and Language Processing). Το 1993 παρακολούθησε μαθήματα Εξειδίκευσης στην Ηλεκτρονική Λεξικογραφία, τα οποία διενεργήθηκαν στο Εργαστήριο Ενσύρματης Τηλεπικοινωνίας (ΕΕΤ) του τμήματος Ηλεκτρολόγων Μηχανικών & Τεχνολογίας Υπολογιστών της Πολυτεχνικής Σχολής του Παν/μίου Πατρών σε συνεργασία με τον εκδοτικό οίκο Collins και το λεξικογραφικό κέντρο Cobuild.

Από το 1993 έως το 1998 υπήρξε μέλος της ομάδας Επεξεργασίας Φυσικής Γλώσσας (ΕΦΓ) του ΕΕΤ συμμετέχοντας σε ερευνητικά έργα (SOCRATES/LINGUA-1995-1-GR-30, COLLINS, ONOMASTICA-LRE-61004), για την κατάρτιση ηλεκτρονικών γλωσσικών πόρων (Σώματα Κειμένων, μονόγλωσσα/δίγλωσσα λεξικά, μορφολογικό λεξικό, κλπ).

Από το 1998 εργάζεται στο ΙΕΛ / Ε.Κ. "Αθηνά" ως υπολογιστική γλωσσολόγος με αντικείμενο την δημιουργία, τεκμηρίωση  και αξιολόγηση Γλωσσικών Πόρων (λεξιλογικών πόρων, απλών ή επισημειωμένων Σωμάτων Κειμένων, και εργαλείων ΕΦΓ) κυρίως στον χώρο της Έξυπνης Δεικτοδότησης και Ανάκτησης Κειμένων, της Εξαγωγής Πληροφορίας από κείμενα, της κατανόησης κειμένου, και της Μηχανικής Μετάφρασης.

Έχει εργαστεί σε πολλά εθνικά και ευρωπαϊκά έργα (ICT-ACCURAT, INTERREG-PHARECBC–ΛΟΓΟΤΕΧΝΙΚΑ ΠΑΡΑΛΛΗΛΑ, IST-REVEALTHIS, EPAN-EXCELAN, eContent-Intera, IST-Cimwos, IST – HLT:Barlic-Ling, ΕΠΕΤ-II-ΚΑΙΡΟΣ, EPET-II-ΟικοΝΟΜίΑ), και έχει συμμετάσχει στην σύνταξη έντυπων και ηλεκτρονικών λεξικών για ανθρώπους-χρήστες, ενώ έχει επιβλέψει διπλωματικές εργασίες στα πλαίσια του διαπανεπιστημιακού Προγράμματος Μεταπτυχιακών Σπουδών “Τεχνογλωσσία” του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών και του ΕΜΠ (2000-2006).

Tα αποτελέσματα της έρευνάς της έχουν δημοσιευτεί σε ελληνικά και διεθνή συνέδρια.
