Βιογραφικά στοιχεία

Η Στέλλα Μαρκαντωνάτου κατέχει τους εξής τίτλους σπουδών: δίπλωμα Χημικού Μηχανικού (ΕΜΠ), πτυχίο Φιλολόγου με ειδίκευση στην Γλωσσολογία (Καποδιστριακό Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών), ΜΑ στην Αναπαράσταση Γνώσης (University of Sussex) και διδακτορικό τίτλο στην Γλωσσολογία (University of Essex). Από το 1992 έως το 1996 υπήρξε μέλος του Essex Computational Linguistics Group και είχε την υπευθυνότητα για την εκτέλεση Ευρωπαϊκών προγραμμάτων τα οποία αφορούσαν την ανάπτυξη γραμματικών και προδιαγραφών για υπολογιστικά λεξικά (LRE, MLAP). Μέλος του ΙΕΛ έγινε το 1998. Διετέλεσε υπεύθυνη του τμήματος Μηχανικής Μετάφρασης του ΙΕΛ από το 1998 έως το 2008. Ως μέλος του ΙΕΛ / Ε.Κ. "Αθηνά" έχει αναλάβει τον συντονισμό Ελληνικών (Σχηματοποίηση, Πρωτεύς) και ευρωπαϊκών προγραμμάτων (ΜΗΤΙΣ-Ι και ΜΗΤΙΣ-ΙΙ) στους τομείς των ελεγχομένων γλωσσών και της υβριδικής μηχανικής μετάφρασης. Έχει επίσης ενεργή συμμετοχή σε ευρωπαϊκά και εθνικά έργα με θέμα την (πρότυπη) αναπαράσταση γνώσης με χρήση οντολογιών (ML-IMAGES!, ΕΚΦΡΑΣΗ, ΕΙΚΟΝΟΓΩΝΣΙΑ, Βάση Δεδομένων Κοργιαλενείου Ιστορικού και Λαογραφικού Μουσείου Αργοστολίου Κεφαλληνίας). Έχει διδάξει σε διάφορα Πανεπιστήμια (University of Essex, Παν/μιο Κύπρου, Παν/μιο Κρήτης, Παν/μιο Αθηνών, ΕΜΠ) σε προπτυχιακό και μεταπτυχιακό επίπεδο καλύπτοντας θέματα γραμματικών φορμαλισμών (LFG, HPSG), λεξικής και τυπικής σημασιολογίας και εισαγωγής στην Υπολογιστική Γλωσσολογία. Έχει συμμετάσχει στην οργάνωση διεθνών συνεδρίων (LAGB 1995 (Fall), LREC2000, LFG2002) και είναι μέλος του ΤΕΕ, της ΕΕΤΝ, της LAGB και της Επιτροπής Ορολογίας ΤΕ21 του ΤΕΕ.
